Do you ever wonder if things will always feel this hard?
Living with chronic pain, scoliosis, or constant anxiety can feel exhausting. Maybe you’ve been told “it’s all in your head,” but your body tells you otherwise. You’ve tried to push through, to smile on the outside while inside you feel misunderstood, frustrated, and stuck.
Pain, worry, and self-criticism don’t just affect your health — they seep into your relationships, your work, and your sense of self. It’s overwhelming to manage it all on your own, and it can feel like no one truly gets what you’re going through.
Are you ready to stop fighting your own mind and body?
It doesn’t have to stay this way
At STC Therapy, we bridge mental health with science-based strategies for pain and performance. Whether you’re navigating scoliosis, body image concerns, managing chronic pain, or striving to feel confident in who you are, therapy can help you rewrite the way your brain and body respond. You’ll learn tools that empower you to feel more in control, less alone, and more hopeful.
Why STC Therapy?
-
Most therapists don’t fully understand what it’s like to live with a spinal condition or chronic pain. At STC Therapy, we specialize in this unique intersection. Our strategies are grounded in neuroscience and pain psychology, so you’ll learn how the brain and body work together — and how to retrain them for relief.
-
By offering services virtually STC Therapy and mental health resources can be accessed from anywhere across Ontario, British Columbia, and Manitoba. Coaching is also offered to reach people across North America.
-
Therapy or coaching is NOT a one size fits all type of deal. STC Therapy’s approach is tailored and person-centered to find the modality that will support you best.
Hi, I’m Colleen Collins.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I work with teens, adults, and athletes to manage anxiety, stress, and chronic worries through evidence-based strategies and personalized care. My goal is to empower you to reduce pain, build confidence, and overcome the challenges that hold you back — so you can thrive in every part of your life. With secure virtual sessions available across Canada, support is always within reach.
I specialize in chronic pain and scoliosis, providing scoliosis-informed mental health care that bridges the gap between physical and emotional wellbeing. My approach focuses on pain management, body image, anxiety, and depression — helping clients improve their quality of life and feel more understood in their journey.
Drawing from my background as a competitive figure skater and my master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology, I also support athletes with the unique mental demands of sport. From performance anxiety and perfectionism to injury recovery and transitions out of sport, I help athletes strengthen their mindset, build resilience, and perform with confidence.
“Bent but not broken”
Life doesn’t always go as planned. We wake up to the same struggles—anxious thoughts, chronic pain, and unhelpful patterns—wanting change but unsure how to move forward. For those struggling with scoliosis or spinal deformities, it can feel like your mind and body are holding you back.
Whatever it is, I got your back.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Psychotherapy and Coaching?
Psychotherapy focuses on mental health and emotional well-being, helping people manage challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or chronic pain through evidence-based treatment provided by licensed professionals. Psychotherapy is a regulated practice and is covered by most insurance companies. STC therapy can provide Psychotherapy to people in certain provinces of Canada, including Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Nunavut. Coaching, on the other hand, is not a regulated health service—it’s more about setting goals, improving performance, and creating positive change in specific areas of life or work. STC Therapy provides coaching services virtually to anyone across North America.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy requires clients to provide at least 48 hours notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will be subject to a cancellation fee, typically equivalent to the full session rate. This policy helps ensure that time slots can be offered to other clients in need.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be beneficial for anyone experiencing emotional distress, mental health challenges, or those looking to improve their overall well-being. If you find yourself struggling with issues like anxiety, depression, chronic pain, or the stress of managing a condition like scoliosis, therapy can provide you with the support and strategies you need to cope effectively. An initial consultation can help determine if therapy is the right fit for you.
How often should I attend therapy?
The convenience and accessibility of virtual therapy is certainly a benefit of therapy. The frequency of therapy sessions varies based on individual needs and goals. Typically, clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum and then may adjust to bi-weekly or monthly sessions as they progress. STC Therapy values flexibility and this includes flexibility in scheduling and frequency of sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
STC Therapy does not bill insurance companies directly; however, we can provide you with detailed receipts for services rendered, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance company beforehand to understand your coverage for psychotherapy services.
What are your fees?
Fees will vary depending on the type of services. Please reach out for more information.
How many sessions does it take to start seeing results?
The number of sessions needed to see results varies. Some clients notice improvements within a few sessions, while others require longer-term therapy. Consistent attendance and active participation in therapy can expedite positive changes.
What mental health problems can therapists and counsellors treat?
